We left Chatham today and caught the ferry to Marthas Vineyard in glorious sunshine.
We are staying at The Mansion House in Vineyard Haven, one of the five or six tiny towns on the island.
The view from the rooftop copula where we had breakfast both mornings so far
Day 13
Today we had a drive around some of the island and took in some of the sights. It was very leisurely as the island is only 15x4 miles. The whole island is in winter/end of season mode so a lot of the facilities are closed or open for very short hours.
Gay Head anyone?
Day 14
Today we 'did' the rest of the island, purposely going to Edgartown to look at the antique shops! Oh my!!! $4,000 for a chest of drawers from England that you could probably get for £30-£40 at Greenwich Auctions! Needless to say, we bought nothing but spent probably three hours looking around the museum of the island and mooching around what shops were open.
A busy day in School Lane, Edgartown, Marthas Vineyard
One can dream.....even the car is borrowed!
Tomorrow we are up early for the ferry back to the mainland to get another ferry, this time without the car, to Block Island for two nights.
